Scholarships to Japan

MEXT (MONBUGAKUSHO)

Given by: The Japanese government's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology

 

For who?

  • For high school/vocational high school graduates and the equivalent to continue their undergraduate education at public universities in Japan.

 

Prior to attending university, scholarship recipients will study Japanese, mathematics, English, and social sciences (for those who choose the field of social studies), and physics, chemistry, biology (for those who choose the field of science) in a preparatory school for 1 year at a university. Japan.

 

The total study period is 5 years.

Requirements:

  • High school/vocational high school graduates and equivalent.

  • Maximum age 24 years when applying

  • Minimum of 84 for each subject in each semester; Mathematics is mandatory and English is mandatory.

  • For applicants who choose the field of study in the Science category, they cannot register if the average value of the subjects mentioned is less than 84, even though they have a JLPT certificate.

  • For participants who choose the field of study in the Social Sciences category if one of the subjects mentioned is less than 84, they can still register by attaching a certificate:
    Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) minimum level N3

  • Minimum EJU 240 points for Japanese test

  • For applicants who have EJU scores in any subject will be an additional point.

Required Documents:

  • Application form

  • Photograph: (3.5 x 4.5cm or 3x4cm) 

  • Academic transcripts 

  • Copy of graduation certificate of last school attended/ certificate of expected graduation

  • Recommendation letter from principal or teacher

  • Copy of Certificate of language proficiency

  • Copy of JLPT/EJU Score results

  • Essay  (Maximum 3 pages, in English or Japanese) that tells about experiences about Japan 

  • Copy of certificate in competition participation/ achievements

  • Tuition fees are fully covered (including preparatory school fees)

  • Living allowance of approximately 117,000/month

MITSUI BUSSAN SCHOLARSHIP

Qualification 

  • Must be citizens of the Republic of Indonesia

  • Applicants must be less than twenty (20) years of age when applying and must remain unmarried during the scholarship period

  • Must have completed SMA (Senior High School) with marks of at least 80 

       For Science course:  Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

       For Social course:  Mathematics, Economics, Geography, and English.

  • ​Applicants must be willing to study the Japanese language

  • Applicants must be healthy, both mentally and physically, and have no infectious diseases.

 

Benefits

  • Living cost: The sum of 145,000 Japanese yen per month 

  • Transportation fees: return ticket from Indonesia to Japan

  • Arrival Allowance: The sum of 50,000 Japanese yen would be given to each grantee upon arrival in Japan.

  • School fees: Cover all education fees from entrance examination, tuition, and Japanese Language Center
