WHAT IS THE CLARENDON FUND SCHOLARSHIP?
The Clarendon Fund provides more than 200 merit-based scholarships for graduate students at the University of Oxford, covering tuition and living costs. These scholarships are available to both part-time and full-time Master's and PhD students, aiming to give exceptional students the chance to pursue their studies and broaden their knowledge at Oxford. By attracting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, the program creates an inclusive community that promotes collaboration across various disciplines and interests.

BENEFITS

- Annual living expenses grant* (for full-time course scholars)
- Study support grants* (for part-time students)
- Compulsory course academic fees (for part-time courses with a modular fee structure, where the course does not have a fixed number of terms of fee liability)
* at least the UKRI minimum doctoral stipend rate (at least £18,622 for 2023-2024)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- All applicants for graduate study at the University of Oxford are eligible
- Applicants who hold a deferred graduate offer are not eligible to be considered for this scholarship
- Current students who will continue to study for the same degree at Oxford in the next year are not eligible for this scholarship.
- An excellent academic record is essential. The majority of successful scholars usually have at least a first-class honors degree or its equivalent.
- The scholarship committee places major emphasis on an applicant’s future academic potential and aptitude for the proposed course of study
Note: Selection criteria may vary slightly depending on the subject area and whether applicants apply for a taught or research degree.
HOW TO APPLY?
- There is no separate procedure to apply for this scholarship.
- The applicants must apply for graduate courses at Oxford University between December and January.
- If the applicant fulfills the eligibility requirements, the college or institute automatically forwards the name of the application for the scholarship.
- Application to your course will be considered by the academics working in your proposed field of study
- Once you are shortlisted, the Clarendon Fund will contact you through email and will send you an offer.
